Persistence and making maximum use of the unique advantages of the site are examples of what Torsboda Industrial Park should prioritize in sales work. The Board of Directors has updated the company's strategic direction and the CEO is now working on a revised budget adapted to new conditions.
- The strategy shows the direction for us when we prioritize in our customer work. It's good that long-term business takes precedence over quick trades. We have the mission to create many jobs and then we need to have the courage to work towards the right contract, not just sell the land,” says Christian Söderberg, CEO of Torsboda Industrial Park.
On about half of the 150 hectares of land in Torsboda so far developed for industrial establishments, PTL was supposed to build its anode factory. That agreement is now closed and the company is now working on finding the right buyer for that land as well. Cain Dotson is a business developer and is responsible for the company's customer dialogues.
- We continue to seek actors who can provide many jobs per square meter and megawatt of electricity. The strategy also says that we should prioritize developers who need more space or more energy than other sites in our region can offer. It is important that we make the most of Torsboda's unique benefits,” says Cain Dotson.
The company is now working on an updated investment budget in which some infrastructure investments are postponed to the future, for example, the temporary interchange does not need to be built now. Since PTL's land purchase does not come off, the company needs other financing. According to the Owners' Directive, shareholders are to ensure financial flexibility allowing investment for the exploitation of the industrial park and financing of the company's operations is to be financed through capital injections or loans.
- The Board of Directors has decided that we have a loan totaling 160 million from our owners, which are Sundsvall and Timrå municipalities. By selling land, we will then recoup our costs,” says Christian Söderberg. The importance of increasing the population and generating growth that can generate developed welfare remains. We have a place with excellent conditions for electricity-intensive industry and we have taken steps forward in terms of infrastructure. Our site is even better now than two years ago when we signed an agreement with PTL so I believe in new exciting establishments.
