There are two main reasons why we work together to attract large establishments to Torsboda — the welfare of the inhabitants and the climate of our planet.
For many years, Västernorrland has struggled with the fact that we are getting fewer residents and that the proportion of older people is increasing in relation to younger people of working age. To reverse that, we need more jobs and more residents who are in and pay taxes so that our welfare can be sustained and developed. In other localities, electricity-intensive industry has been shown to create increased regional attractiveness and growth. We want to see it happen here with us. This effort is made for schools, health care, care facilities, leisure facilities and everything else we humans should expect in a good society.
In our part of the world there is plenty of land and good access to one hundred percent renewable energy. We have a university with energy research at the forefront and several urban areas where people can live and live with a high quality of life. It is attractive for electricity-intensive industry that wants to develop. We have one of Europe's best locations for industrial establishments linked to the green transition.
In our strategic direction, we have determined that we will find actors who contribute to the green transition and create as many jobs per square meter and megawatt as possible.
Our region will actively contribute to ensuring that we can leave old fossil-dependent technologies behind. Development is fast now and batteries are a step in the green transition that needs to take place around us. We want development to happen here.
Economically, investment in the industrial park is estimated to be a zero-sum game. Land sales, infrastructure revenues, and settlers' fees for connections finance the investments. At the same time, the municipalities are working on the social transformation necessary for the establishments to become the basis for the good growth we want and create added value for our residents. The long-term impact goal of the investment in Torsboda industrial park is first and foremost increased population growth and more residents working and paying taxes.

The Mission
Torsboda Industrial Park Aktiebolag will create conditions for the establishment of an industrial park with companies that generate at least 2,000 — 4,000 jobs.
Operational Directives
The assignment shall continue during the period when the construction of Torsboda Industrial Park is in progress. The company shall only to a limited extent own and manage real estate/land in the long term.
The company shall contribute to a holistic approach, good collaboration and effective cooperation with both its own organisations and external stakeholders, with the overall aim of facilitating establishment. The marketing and sale of Torsboda Industrial Park will be carried out in collaboration with the municipalities of Härnösand, Sundsvall and Timrå.
Economic Directives
Torsboda Industrial Park AB shareholders shall ensure a financial room for manoeuvre that enables investments to exploit Torsboda industrial park. Financing of the company's activities is through capital injections or loans.
